Glenville - Jean Rafferty Jansen, 82, of Glenville died peacefully on Monday, December 26 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Albany on October 23, 1934. Daughter of James Rafferty and Rose Sheehan Rafferty. Jean was a 1951 graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany, NY. Jean worked at New York Telephone and St. Luke's School in Schenectady, NY. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life's work was taking care of her family. Jean enjoyed sports and could often be found watching her children and grandchildren participate in various athletic events. She was an avid reader and a long time watcher of Days of Our Lives. Survivors include Henry Jansen Jr., her beloved husband of 61 years; daughter Nancy Jansen, sons Henry Jansen III (Patricia) and James Jansen (Lisa). Grandchildren Jeffrey DeVarnne (Allison), Steven DeVarnne, Daniel Jansen, Haley Jansen, Lauren Griggs (Mike), Kevin Knightes (Brittany), Robert Knightes and great-grandson Xavier DeVarnne. Jean was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Elizabeth and Rosemary and grandson Tommy Jansen. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 9:00, at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan Street. Calling hours, Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
