Obituary of Catherine McGarry-Czech

Catherine McGarry-Czech, 74, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Catherine was born in Albany, the daughter of the late John and Margaret McGarry and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and earned her college degree from Hudson Valley Community College. Catherine worked in the dental health care field, earlier with private practices and for the last decade of her career at St. Peter's Hospital. She was a communicant of All Saints Church Catholic Church in Albany and was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Czech, Jr. who died in 1997. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John P. McGarry and step-mother, Geraldine McGarry. Catherine is survived by her children, Stephen P. Czech and Katina Lanese; grandchildren, Olivia Lanese and Isabella Lanese; sister, Elizabeth McGarry; sister-in-law, Wendy McGarry; niece, Lori McGarry and nephew, John W. McGarry. Calling hours will be Thursday 5 to 7 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Funeral services will be held Friday 8 a.m. from the funeral home then to All Saints Catholic Church of Albany (formerly St. Margret Mary's next to CVS) 16 Homestead St., Albany, NY 12203 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany.
