Obituary of Sheila Marhafer

Glenville - Sheila Marhafer, 72, of Saratoga Rd., died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Sheila was born in Albany, the daughter of John and Harriette McLaughlin. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and the Ellis Hospital School. She had worked at Ellis Hospital for many years, later working as a substitute school nurse for the Schenectady City School District. Her favorite pastime included time spend with her grandchildren, summers at Sacandaga and friens through the Edinburg Emergency Squad. Through the years she maintained close friendships with her classmates from nursing school and had been a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She is survived by her husband, William F. Marhafer, they married in 1966. One daughter, Danielle (Roy) Ryan of Burnt Hills; a sister, Carleen McLaughlin of Guilderland; two grandchildren, Brittany Ryan and Ryan Marhafer and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, William "Willie" Marhafer, II and her brother, John McLaughlin. Funeral service, Tuesday morning, 8:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 9 at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours, Monday evening, 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
