Schenectady - Angelo DiMeo, 78, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017,surrounded by his loving family. Angelo was born in Italy the son of the late Luigi and Giuseppa (Cusano) DiMeo and immigrated to the United States when he was 17 years old. He worked as a mason with the #2 Brick Layers Union for many years, retiring in 1993 and was a longtime communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church. Angelo's greatest passion in his life was his family in particular his grandchildren. Angelo is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sandra (Flynn) DiMeo, their children, Anthony DiMeo, Linda (Ron) LeBlanc and Laurie (Anthony) DiMeo - Sefcovic, grandchildren, Aliza, Domonique, Kaleigh, Shaunna, Gregory and Sabina, several great-grandchildren and siblings, Pio DiMeo, Mario DiMeo, Flora Stella, Pauline Zagari, and Angela Mongillo. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucille DiGioia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church. A calling hour will Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 am at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304 or Visiting Nurses Association 108 Erie Blvd., Schenectady, NY 12305.
