~~Louise C. DeBlase, 89, formerly of Morningside Ave. and Van Antwerp Village, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Louise was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Louis and Carrie Tatangelo and was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. For many years she was the secretary and EKG Technician in her husband's cardiology office, Dr. Joseph DeBlase. She was a member of the Schenectady Medical Auxiliary, St. Clare's Hospital Auxiliary and a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Joseph DeBlase. Survived by two children, Joseph (Tina) DeBlase of Niskayuna and Catherine (Tim) O'Connor of Grand Island, NE; two sisters, Angelina (the late John) DiGiorgio of Niskayuna and Virginia (the late Lawrence) Patricca; five grandchildren, Lauren (Jamie) Dodge, Gabriella and Mary DeBlase; Joseph and Katelin O'Connor; many nieces and nephews; great and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and sister, Dr. Dominick (the late Nancy) Tatangelo and Jane (the late Angelo) Cicciu. Funeral service, Monday morning, 11:30 at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There will be no calling hours. Interment, St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. A very special thank you to Penny Mallory, for her loving and devoted care of Louise for many years.
