Niskayuna - Mary Ellen Giblin,74, formerly of Nelson Dr., died in Queensbury on Monday, March 5, 2018.

Mary Ellen was born and educated in Warsaw, NY, the daughter of William and Mary Hurlburt. She earned her Ph.D in Urban Development from RPI. For many years she worked for NYS, as a Budget Director for the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities, retiring in 2003. She had also taught courses for the Empire State College. She enjoyed the activities of the Schenectady Red Hat Society, an avid reader, loved to travel, a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and will be remembered as being devoted to her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Giblin, who died in 2004.

Survived by one daughter, Darlene (Michael) Hayes; a brother, William (Holly) Hurlburt; a nephew and niece Matthew and Katie Hurlburt and many cousins,

Funeral service, Saturday morning 10:00 from Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 10:30 at St. Kateri Tekawitha Church (1803 Union St,. Niskayuna) where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 at the funeral home. Entombment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
