Louise A. Lupi (Gallo), 85, loving mother and faithful friend, passed away on April 27, 2009. Born in 1923, she was the oldest daughter of the late Domenico Gallo and Agnes Diamante Gallo, and sister to the late Sue Gallo and Simeo Joseph Gallo. Louise is survived by her son, Louis B. Lupi, Jr. (Monica) of Chatham, MA, and her daughters, Teresa (Gary) Toth of Brookline, MA, Lisa (Eddie) Mediaville of Wellington, FL, and Linda (Stephen) Caldwell of Ardsley, NY, and six grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Landon, Nicholas, Jessie, Sam, Domenico and Elisea. Louise also leaves behind her many cousins and friends. A lifelong Schenectady resident, Louise was a graduate of the former Mont Pleasant High School. She received her R.N. degree in 1945 from Atlantic City Hospital in New Jersey. Early in her career, she returned to Schenectady and worked at Ellis Hospital and in the office of the late Peter Bakal, M.D. Beginning in 1964, Louise joined St. Claire's Hospital, serving as supervisor of the operating room from 1980 to her retirement in 1991. She loved her profession, colleagues and patients. Louise had a passion for living life to its fullest at all moments. She shared her positive attitude, smile and generous support with everyone. She held her family especially dear to her heart; her grandchildren were her special joy. Louise measured her success in life by the people she helped, the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and the love she fostered amongst the family.
