Jas, I knew something was wrong, you did not greet me the way I have known for over 25 years. Your excitement to share the success stories of your children, and all the progress in your family life was not there this time when we last crossed paths at JFK. You seemed distant - what happened Jas !!
You did such an amazing job for your family, the fruits of your labour sit in the presence of your children, you did an incredible job, these were the days for you to now enjoy those long, hard sacrificial years, I am so saddened and broken by your untimely departure.
I can see you in your ASC uniform, working hard at your studies like it was yesterday in 1994, and supporting your husband dearly as you planned and built your lives together. Nicholas was the pride of your daily conversations, we knew he would do well, then Brandon, amazingly followed, then your daughter, incredible, all positive kids under your love and guidance !!!
I wish I had taken one more minute to ask if you were okay, I thought you were perhaps exhausted with travel, as your bags were also misplaced on arrival in Antigua, I thought a lot was going on that day, but I also felt like what were the chances, after such a long time, that we will just randomly cross paths in a busy place like JFK International !!!
That was the Universe's way of giving us a final chance to say goodbye. Our friendship will never die, but I am broken in spirit to learn of your passing.
My respect for you will live on for the rest of my own life on earth.
