Schenectady - Lawrence Bisaillon Sr., 86, last living at Schenectady Center for the past three years passed away peacefully in his sleep during the night of May 9th after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's. Larry was born in Schenectady June 17, 1931 to the late Roswell Bisaillon and Rose (Carringi) Deitz. He attended Miami Dade HS and graduated from Mont Pleasant HS where he met and married his wife Dorothy (Kozlowski) who passed away Jan 24, 2001. Larry was predeceased by his brother Richard Deitz. He is survived by his sister Roberta DeSarbo, sister-in-law Virginia (Richard) DePaula, his loving companion Jeane Sinnenberg, his son's Larry Jr (Joanna) and Joel (Susan), grandchildren: Joel Jr. (Janel), Dr. Jonathan (Tessa), Caitlin Vallario (Matt), Beau (Emily), Mike (Bianca) Manson, Jenni and Nicole (Justin) Manson. Also great grandchildren: Joel III, Riley, and Pierce Bisaillon, and Haylee and Vincent Manson. "Little Grandpa" adored them all and they in turn loved him dearly. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. After marrying Dorothy, Larry entered the Navy and served as a flight mechanic at the Naval Air Station in Patuxent River MD where Larry Jr. was born. They returned to Schenectady the next year and Joel was born while Larry started his career at NY Telephone. He retired from the telephone co. after 35 years but he never stopped to relax as he and Joel started building homes and buying income properties under Bisaillon Custom Builders. He was eventually succeeded by Joel Jr. but he always stayed active until the end asking every day what had been accomplished. Larry loved to golf, camp, socialize with his many friends, travel, fish, and attend his grandchildren's many football, wrestling, soccer, basketball, dance, and even field hockey games. Grandpa never missed an event and he was always up for a new adventure. He gained a new extended and loving family with Jeane and they travelled and enjoyed many years together. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. Schenectady 12304. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 9 AM at St. John the Evangelist church 806 Union St. in Schenectady. A graveside military salute and internment will follow at St. Joseph's cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited after the services to The City Squire on Keyes Ave to celebrate Larry's life. Friends are encouraged to write down and share their favorite stories about Larry so that we can enjoy them for many years and keep his spirit alive. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry's memory may be made to the Schenectady Center Patient's fund, 526 Altamont Ave, Schenectady 12303. Larry's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the Schenectady Center family that took such great care of him and showed so much love and compassion.
