Charlene "Charli" DeLuca, 62, of Belmont Ave., died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Ellis Hospital, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Charli was born in Albany, the daughter of Samuel and Evelyn Canabush. She was a graduate of Linton High School. For many years, she worked at The Carl Co. as a buyer, later working for Macy's as a manager at the Colonie store, retiring this February. Charli had been a member of Mr. Carl's Quarter Century Club. She will always be remembered for her love of family, gathering them together for holidays, special events and especially those delicious Sunday dinners. Charli continuously cooked for family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Joseph DeLuca; her beloved daughter, Jami DeLuca of Schenectady; two sisters, Loretta Lawyer of Schenectady and Connie Canabush of Burlington, VT; nieces and nephews, Angel Schermerhorn, Stephanie Bauer, Nicole Grasso, Karli Richardson, Lindsey Canabush, Ashley Canabush and Aaron Pitrie; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Clara DeLuca; sisters and broth- er-in-law, Marlene Canabush, Sheila Canabush, Paul and Joan DeLuca; aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nieces and nephews. Charlene was predeceased by her three brothers, Sam, Jr., Tony and Lonnie Canabush. Funeral service Wednesday morning 10 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours Tuesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Ellis Hospital Foundation, 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308 or Gilda's Club, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
