Shave Elizabeth Obituary

On Friday, September 4, 2009, Elizabeth M. Shave, 93, of Sullivan Rd., passed away suddenly at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Schenectady, she worked for the Mohonasen school system as a cook for over 15 years before retiring. Elizabeth moved to Queensbury in 1977, where she was a charter member of the Queensbury Senior Citizens and a member of the Glens Falls Seniors. She had a deep interest in needlework, especially knitting, making many, many hats and gloves for the school children of Queensbury. Elizabeth loved playing cards and traveling, spending the winters in Florida. Wife of the late David S. Shave, Sr., survivors include two daughters, Sheila Doyle and her husband, Richard of Burnt Hills and Sarah Jane McCarrol and her husband, Austin of Lake George; a son, David S. Shave, Jr. of Texas; and a sister, Emma Zemanek of Lake George. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Whelan. Funeral services, Wednesday morning, 10:30, from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. and 11 o'clock at Our Lady of Grace Church, 73 Midline Rd., Ballston Lake, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. An hour of visitation will preceed the service at the funeral home Wednesday morning, from 9:30 to 10:30. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery Niskayuna.
