Richard Bailey Schenectady - Richard G. Bailey, 82, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024.
Richard was born in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Evelyn (Serrell) and R. Gordon Bailey. Richard was a lifelong area resident. He earned his master's degree at SUNY Albany. He taught math in the Schenectady School System for close to 40 years, positively impacting the lives of countless young people in the community. He retired in 2003. An avid athlete, Richard was an expert skier and distance runner. He completed several marathons. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, gardening, visiting Cape Cod and spending time with family and friends.
Richard was predeceased by his brother, Donald Bailey, and also by his wife, Cornelia Bailey.
He is survived by his sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
