Steven Angelo Massaroni of Schenectady and Troy, NY sadly left our world on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born on October 18, 1954, Steve was the son of Americo and Grace Massaroni. He will be greatly missed by his loving fiancée Maria Dos Santos, sisters Linda Massaroni and Mary (Norman) Perazzo and brother Robert (Nora Holland) Massaroni, as well as nieces Jessica (Bryan) Woliner, Leah Perazzo and Isabel (Brandon Cosentino) Massaroni and nephews Edward (Becca Maltzman) Perazzo and Ian Massaroni. He also will be missed by his great nephews Parker and Maxwell Woliner and great niece Anna Woliner. He is predeceased by his beloved parents Americo and Grace and by his fiancée's mother Candida Dos Santos, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Steve graduated from Linton High School and then earned a degree in archaeology from SUNY-Albany. During his career as an archaeologist, he worked on numerous and diverse projects throughout New York State and was affectionately known to his family as The Samurai Archaeologist. He then switched professions and worked for the Albany County Department of Child Protective Services until his retirement in 2018. Steve will always be remembered for his love and dedication to his family. He loved the outdoors, pets and animals, golfing (previous president of the City Hall Golf League), football, and nurturing his garden. Another favorite activity was making wine with his uncle and cousins.

Memorial services to honor Steve’s legacy of kindness and strength will be held on Thursday, February 13th, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, 1803 Union Street, Niskayuna, NY 12309.
