Judith (Judy) Tygert (Brown), walked home with family, at the age of 86, Tuesday, Feb.11th. Enjoying her life in Schenectady, NY, she secretaried at G.E. and for several Medical Offices - her shorthand was impeccable! Born in Esperance, NY, Oct 28, 1938, to Bertha and Milton Brown, Judy had many loves; her kitties, cooking/hosting, flowers, family Scrabble games, Words with Friends, and perhaps most importantly, her Grand/Great-grandchildren. Survived by her daughter Karen Tygert, grandchildren Keith (Leticia) Taylor, Karen Taylor, Sarah Tygert, Matthew Tygert, Julia (Jeffrey) Tygert, Emily Tygert, great-granddaughter Maya Taylor, and sister, Joan Fox (Brown). She leaves us to meet her husband, Robert (Bob) Tygert, as well as her daughter Kathryn Taylor (Tygert), sons Karl Tygert and baby Keith, and sisters Barbara Wolford (Brown) and Betty Fox (Brown).
Judy was a devout Christian, and played piano and organ for the church, and if there was a piano in sight, she would likely sit down and play a hymn or two. She taught those closest to her to enjoy the simple pleasures in life; she often shared a story about listening to the Esperance Fire Department Band practicing on warm summer evenings as a child, while she and her sisters sat outside as the music drifted across the Schoharie Creek to their house. May we all learn to sit quietly and notice the beauty all around us, every day, as she did.
Calling hours are Sunday, February 16th, from 2-4 pm at Daly Funeral Home in Schenectady, NY, followed by a private family service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
