Obituary of Jamal Marshall

Schenectady – Jamal Maxfield Marshall, 32, of Schenectady, New York, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 3, 1992, in Brooklyn, New York to Yoland and Grafton Marshall. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Camel Stapleton.
He is survived by his loving parents, Grafton and Yoland Marshall; his four brothers, Orande, Errol, Delvourt, and Alexander; and his two sisters, Janine and Jalissa. Jamal is also survived by four nephews, three nieces, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion, especially to his caretakers, his sister Kaylonda, and his sister-friend Buffy, whose devotion brought him comfort in his final days.
Jamal was known for his big heart, always willing to make others smile. His family meant the world to him, and he created lasting memories, from special moments with his nieces and nephews to his joyful interactions with family and friends. Jamal's love for life and his family was undeniable, and he will be missed by many in Schenectady and around the world.
Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, with visitation from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm, followed by burial at Park View Cemetery, 40 Fehr Avenue, Schenectady, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with memorial expenses.
