Richard "Rick" Margas, age 79, of Scotia, NY, died on March 14, 2025 after a brief battle with stage 4 lung cancer complicated by aortic insufficiency.

Rick was born in Schenectady, NY to Charles and Katherine (Clark) Margas.

He proudly served two tours of duty with the army in Vietnam. Afterwards, he enjoyed a 32-year career at the G.E. Research & Development Center in Niskayuna, NY. Rick loved the Adirondacks and was fortunate enough to be able to enjoy a vacation home there for the past 25 years.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Tricia (McGrath) Margas and her daughter Meghan McGrath (Barbara Sans) and their son Brendan Danahy, as well as his sons, David and Stephan Margas and sisters, Susan Miers and Carol Popolizio.

A Military service will be held at 2:00 PM, on March 28, 2025, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
