Dominic A. Prestia Schenectady - Dominic A. Prestia, 74, passed away Friday March 21, 2025.
Dominic was born in Italy the son of Francesco and Teresa (Commisso) Prestia. The family immigrated to the United States when Dominic was eight years old, settling in Utica, where Dominic spent his formative years. He moved to Schenectady in the early 1970's for a job with GE and has been at home here ever since. Dominic was a Draftsman with GE for almost 40 years retiring in 2011. He was a devout catholic a long time member of the Guan Ho Ha Rod and Gun Club in Scotia and enjoyed spending time with family and grandkids and watching CNN.
Dominic is survived by the love of his life Jo-Etta Butler, mother Teresa Prestia, step - children; Angel Jaquish (Mark), Amanda Butler and Jared Butler (Andrea), step - grandchildren; Jocelyn, Dalton, Hunter, Alaya, Ariyanna, Ayden, Amiah, Harper and Maddox, siblings; Joseph Prestia, Rosa Shapiro (Boris), Judy Velardi (Sal) and Lena Addison, nieces and nephews; Laura, Sergio, Salvatore and Bianca. He was predeceased by his father and sister Mary Prestia.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29 2025 at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady.
