Aaliyah Nicole Torain
July 30, 2006 – July 4, 2025
Schenectady – Aaliyah Nicole Torain, 18, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Born in Bay Shore, Long Island, on July 30, 2006, Aaliyah was the beloved daughter of Damon and Danielle Torain. She was a recent graduate of Steinmetz Career and Leadership Academy. Passionate about helping others, Aaliyah had just begun her career as a certified nurse’s aide at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home—a role that came naturally to her, as she was a lifelong caregiver at heart.
Aaliyah had a deep love for cooking, music, and laughter. Her unique and quirky sense of humor brought joy to those around her, and she had a gift for making people feel loved and seen. Above all, she cherished her family deeply.
In addition to her parents, Aaliyah is survived by her loving siblings, Ariel Torain, Nazir Torain, Colton Carrow, and Dante Mendel; her grandmothers, Kim Torain-Kales and Claire Cardinale; and several devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold
her in their hearts.
Aaliyah’s warmth, light, and compassion will be missed beyond measure.
The funeral service will be held Saturday 12:00 noon at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
