Liam Michael Gray, born Liam Michael Kelsh on June 7, 1991, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. A 2009 graduate of Niskayuna High School, he studied at The College of Saint Rose, where he worked as the receptionist at the Winkler Center. He left that position to earn multiple certifications in welding. He was extremely proud of the work he did at Philips Healthcare in Latham, NY, building MRI machines. He married the love of his life, Rebecca Zaleski, on June 20, 2021. They had a home in Petersburg, NY, with acres of wilderness that brought them joy as they explored it together. Although Liam left Philips for work in retail, he continued to weld, creating small sculptures that he sold at craft fairs and through his Artist in the Attic (AitA) endeavor. Liam was a lover of nature and all its creatures. He himself was a force of nature, moving through his days like a storm, a vivid wind that blew the air clean and bright. His intelligence and passion saturated every space he entered. They live on in his artwork, his music, and his sculpture – and all those he loved so fiercely. Liam is survived by his wife, Rebecca Gray, along with her parents, LuAnn and Raymond Zaleski; his mother, Deborah Kelsh and her husband, Richard Brody; his father, Thomas Kelsh with his wife Rose Kent and their children Tae Andrews, Connor Andrews and his wife Kate, and Theresa Kent; his sister, Rhiannon Lasher and her husband Christopher, together with their children Levi and Brynlee; and many aunts, uncles, and their children. He is preceded in death by his stepsister Kellyrose Andrews. Calling hours for Liam will be held Thursday November 13, 2025 at Daly Funeral Home in Schenectady from 5-7. A Catholic Mass will be held for Liam on Friday November 14 at Saint Madeleine Sophie Church in Schenectady at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, Liam’s families suggest a contribution to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of the Capital Region NY or the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
