Eric J. Brown Obituary

Daytona Beach, FL – Eric J. Brown, 70, passed away suddenly at home, on Nov. 26, 2025. He was born on Dec. 28, 1954, to Julian and Mabel (Cook) Brown of W. Oneonta, NY.Eric always had a love for music and after graduating high school, he played guitar and later was a sound man for local bands in the upstate NY area.

When Eric visited Florida, some 40 years ago, he loved Daytona Beach and decided to reside there, permanently. He was still working at Winchester Computers, as System Integrator and Purchasing Manager and also building computers to customers' specs.

As father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Eric loved his family deeply and always kept check on how we were doing. He didn't have much time for hobbies, but he enjoyed guitars, going to concerts, comedy shows and movies.

Eric is survived by his longtime, caring partner and just recently, husband, Jeff Ware; two sons, Josh (Lacy) Brown of Ticonderoga, NY and Jason Brown of FL and their families; brother, Charlie (Barb) Brown of Oneonta, NY; sister, Janet (Steve) Schiavo of Glenville, NY and their families; also, his faithful and lovable dog, Hazel.

We miss you deeply; may you rest in peace, Eric.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Cook Cemetery, W. Oneonta, NY in the spring.
