Malcolm Rossan Obituary

Malcolm Joseph Rossan, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, surrounded by the quiet strength and grace that defined his life.


Malcolm was born in Guyana, the son of the late Shaibee and Joseph Rossan. In 2009, he immigrated to the United States and by 2011, made his home in Schenectady. He worked for many years as a food server at the Martin Luther King School in Schenectady, where he was known for his gentle nature and dedication.


Malcolm was a quiet, easy-going man who was loved by many. He carried a calm presence and a deep inner peace that remained with him even in his final days—a peace that could be felt by his entire family.


The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice and NYOH for their compassionate care and support.


He is survived by his loving wife, Bibi Rossan; their children, Yasmin, Nazeema and Ashraf; his grandchildren, Vishal, Jimmy, Diana, Sheneeza, Afsal, and Ashley; one great-granddaughter; five siblings; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Malcolm was predeceased by his beloved son, Mustaq, and his brother, Albert.


Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Vale Cemetery, Schenectady.


Malcolm will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and the lasting peace he shared with all who knew him.
