Claudia Bernstein Obituary

Claudia Bernstein of South Windsor, Connecticut

Claudia Bernstein, 71, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at her home in South Windsor, Connecticut.

Claudia was born in New Rochelle, New York, the daughter of the late Louis and Lucy Verruto. She moved to Schenectady, New York, as a young child, where she was raised and later graduated from Notre Dame High School. She went on to earn her Bachelors degree from Siena College in Loudonville, NY.

Shortly after marrying her former husband, Thomas Feeney, Claudia moved to Connecticut, where they spent their early years in Vernon before moving to Glastonbury while supporting Thom's career. When her children were young, Claudia ran a home-based business called Brimming Baskets. Later, she pursued a career in radio and television advertising, a field which she was deeply passionate about. She was also actively involved for many years in the Glastonbury Junior Women's Club.

In October of 2002, she married her husband Barry and settled in South Windsor, where they lived for the last 25 years. She was very active in her Church, St. Margret Mary, regularly volunteered at the South Windsor Senior Center, the Connecticut Humane Society, and served on the committee for the South Windsor Alliance for Families.

Claudia is survived by her daughters, Sarah Feeney and her partner Dean Aresco, and their daughter Ryan; and Christa Feeney and her daughter, Amelia. She is also survived by her loving husband, Barry Bernstein, and his family: Eric Bernstein (Breanne) and children Ben, Abby, Caleb, and Josephine; and Elisha Rose (Eric) and their children Julianna, Andrew, and Samantha. Claudia also leaves behind a large extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Claudia was predeceased by her brother, Louis Verruto.
