Gloria J. Hunt

Schenectady – Gloria J. Hunt, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Schenectady on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Gloria was born in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late Louis and Maybel Beaton, and was a lifelong resident of the Capital Region. She devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Her home was always a place of warmth, care, and quiet joy.

As a young woman, Gloria enjoyed needlepoint, a hobby that reflected her patience and creativity. In later years, she found comfort and happiness in watching Hallmark movies, working on word search puzzles, and making beaded ornaments—gifts that carried her personal touch and love.

Gloria is survived by her sons, James Hunt and his wife Jennifer, and Jeffrey Hunt and his wife Stephanie; her seven cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Jeffrey, Nathan, Juan, Christopher, Jace, and Samantha; and her sister, Bertha Adamczak.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Hunt, in 2020.

A funeral service for Gloria will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McLean Street, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will precede the service from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Gloria will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devotion to her family, and the simple pleasures that brought her joy throughout her life.
