Francis "Frank" Hickey, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 19, 2026,

Born on June 20, 1937, Frank was the son of the late Daniel Hickey and Pauline Casey Hickey. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Hickey, and his sister, Bernadette Hickey O'Connor.

In June of 1965, Frank married the love of his life, Mary Donovan Hickey. The two met through the Catholic Young Adult Club, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in faith, family, and devotion.

Frank is survived by his two daughters, Marcia Nickerson and her husband Gregory, and Anne Bood and her husband Jeffrey. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to four beloved grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

Frank dedicated many years of his professional life to Benchemark Printing, where he was a valued and hardworking employee. Outside of work, he enjoyed a full and active life. In his younger years, he found joy in square dancing and bowling, and later in life, he treasured time spent at Pine Lake, creating lasting memories with family and friends.

A graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, Frank was also a lifelong parishioner of St. John the Evangelist, where his faith remained an important part of his life.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Sara Goulakos for her compassionate and dedicated care during the last years of Frank's life. They also wish to thank the wonderful team at Beacon Hospice for the comfort and support provided during his final week.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday May 2, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 806 Union St., Schenectady. Interment to follow, in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY. There will be no calling hours.
