Terry Paul Snyder of Schenectady, NY has reunited with his family and friends in heaven after passing away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina on April 5, 2026. His journey through life was marked by dedication, love, laughter, and countless memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Terry was born on September 25, 1954 to John and Lenore Snyder and grew up with his brother Jack on Davis Terrace in the Mont Pleasant area of Schenectady. He was an exceptional athlete from an early age, excelling as a pitcher for Schenectady Little League, then for Mont Pleasant High School and eventually American Legion baseball. The camaraderie and competition of those days created lifelong friendships.

After graduating from Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady, New York, Terry embarked on a career as a Site Engineer with Servidone Construction Company. His work took him all over the East Coast and into Texas. One of his final assignments brought him to North Carolina, where he fell in love with the mid-south charm and eventually chose Wilmington as his place of retirement.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed squeezing in rounds of golf between his busy work schedule and into retirement. Fishing at Carolina Beach was another of Terry’s beloved pastimes, as he often found peace and joy by the ocean. Above all though, he loved sharing a good laugh with his close friends, reminiscing about the old days and spending time with his beloved dog, Dakotah.

Terry was predeceased by his loving parents John “Red” Snyder and Lenore (Ippolitti) Snyder, his brother Jack Snyder, his cousin George Gunn and countless other cousins, aunts and uncles from both the Ippolitti and McGinn families.

He will be missed greatly by his long-time friends and family members, including his nieces Erica (Colin) Borst and Carly Caban, his nephew Scott (Christine) Snyder, all his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, his son Ryan Snyder, his wife Nancy Snyder and many cousins.

Terry will always be remembered for his warmth, great smile and witty sense of humor. Although quiet by nature, Terry's genuine spirit touched everyone he met, enriching their lives with his kindness and infectious laughter. Right now, we imagine him somewhere fishing at the beach with a drink in one hand and his best girl Dakotah by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady, NY 12304
