Barbara Ann Cooper Obituary
Barbara Buechler Cooper, 76, of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026, after a long illness.
Born in Schenectady in 1949, Barbara was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Elizabeth Nennstiel Buechler. She was a member of the class of 1967 at Scotia-Glenville High School.
As a young woman, Barbara worked for the New York State Department of Tax and Finance and the Mohawk Brush Company. She was loving and devoted to her family and loved hosting picnics and holidays for her large extended family.
Barbara was a longtime and active member of Home Bureau through the First Reformed Church of Scotia chapter and also attended and participated in activities at Grace Lutheran Church of Niskayuna . She enjoyed photography, crossword puzzles, sewing, crocheting, and many other crafts. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and devotion to her family and friends.
She is survived by her cherished daughter, Elizabeth Nelson (Ray); her stepson, Louis Lueck; her sister, Bernice Parks (Norman); her brother, David Buechler (Rosemary); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Waddington, Jeanne Rando, and Mary Bethka; and by her brother, Joseph F. Buechler.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, P O Box 756, Osceola, WI 54020-0756.
