Edward “Eddie” Oquendo, 58, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Eddie was the son of Carmelo and Awilda Oquendo. In the late 1990s, he moved from Brooklyn to Schenectady, a community he proudly called home for the remainder of his life.

Eddie was truly a jack of all trades. A hardworking and talented man, he worked as a handyman, operated a cleaning service, and served as a property manager. There was very little Eddie could not fix, build, or accomplish with his hands. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and anyone in need.

Eddie had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time at Lake George, barbecuing with family and friends, and listening to freestyle music. Above all else, however, Eddie cherished his family. His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

He is survived by his children, Nicole, Kim, Eddie (Abby), Stephanie, Miranda, and Frankie; his beloved grandchildren, Carmenlina, Bella, Joel, Jayson, Aliana, Aria, Ariella, Azalea, and Lakely; his sisters, Liza and Michelle; and his significant other, Holly Hernandez, with whom he shared nearly three decades of love and companionship.

Eddie was predeceased by his grandmother, Carmen Davila, who was more like a mother to him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 25, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Daly Funeral Home. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
