Nick (Soapy) Sapone, 95, passed away May 14th in his home. Nick was born on April 18th, 1931, in Schenectady, NY to the late Vito Sapone and Jennie Servedio. Nick was predeceased by his brother Jim, Pat, and Joseph Sapone. Nick is survived by his wife of 63 years Carolyn Corbo Sapone, daughter Nadine and son Nick Jr and grandson Alex, sister Mary Salamone, nephews Jim and Sam Salamone and nieces Patty Lafreniere and Lori Sipone.

Nick graduated from Mt. Pleasant HS, followed by his service in the Army stationed in Alaska during the Korean War.

Nick worked for Boulevard Rug Co as a carpet installer for over 30 years. The things he enjoyed the most after retirement were golfing (getting his hole in 1), going to OTB, but most of all going to Alex’s school activities and all of his baseball games. His night always ended with a screwdriver while enjoying a Yankee game.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the caring service of Hospice for all of their help that they provided during his last days. Our special thanks goes to Cara and her team.

Nick’s request was to be cremated and for there to be no service.
