Robert J. Hogan, "Bobby", 73, passed away peacefully on March 17, surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Schenectady, Bob was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School in 1955 and then Siena College in 1959. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Army. After several years operating restaurants in the Schenectady area, including Hogan's Town House, Hogan's City Squire and the Wayside Inn, Bob started a career in insurance and financial planning, most recently with Marshall and Sterling Inc. Son of the late Charles and Helen Hogan of Schenectady. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Cookie); and his children, Brian Hogan (Meredith) of Lake George, Greg Hogan of Saratoga, Erin Brubaker (Otis) of Gunnison, CO, Susan Fryer (Dave) of Averill Park, Linda Prince (Ed) of Latham, Nancy Kawola (John) of Sudbury, MA, Pamela Birnbach of Latham, Penny Falbo (Francesco) of Colonie; his sister, Mary Ellen Gidley; and brother, Norman Hogan (Debbie); as well as his ten grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, March 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street in Schenectady. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010, at 12 noon at St. John the Evangelist Church on Union Street in Schenectady. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
