Richard "Ricky" Varno, 55, passed away Thursday April 6, 2023. Ricky was born in Schenectady the son of Beverly Varno and Edward (Carol) Varno and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Niskayuna High School where he competed in and excelled at many sports. Ricky was a really good person who was known as a man with a great work ethic. Ricky's generosity helped people throughout his life and is now helping people through his loving involvement with organ donation. Ricky's passing and his selfless act of organ donation has saved the lives of several people. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children Richard Varno, Jr., Amanda Olsen and Destiny Varno, granddaughters Gianna and Estella, brother Edward Varno and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be Monday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. The funeral service will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Heart Association in Ricky's memory.
