Stephanie M. Hayes passed away unexpectedly on Sunday Dec. 24, 2023. Stephanie was born in Schenectady. She was the daughter of Raymond and Jacqueline Hayes. She is survived by her siblings Marcella Hayes, Suzanne (David) Brassard and Danial Hayes. She is also survived by her niece Heather and her great-nieces Gianna and MacKenzie and her dear friends Margaret Anderton and Kathleen Hutton. She was a graduate of Linton High School and worked as a phone operator for 20 plus years for NY Tel and AT&T. After that she worked as an office manager for various places. Stephanie's faith and community were very important in her life. She was a very active member of St. Luke's church. She was involved with the Republican party in Schenectady. This included her running for Schenectady City Council this past fall. She was a member of Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Calling hours will be Wed., Jan 3rd, from 11-12:30 at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, followed by a mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church, State St., Schenectady at 1 pm. Burial will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304.
