Rotterdam - James M. Stiegeler, 62, passed away and was received into heaven, Sunday January 28, 2024. Jim was born in Schenectady, the son of the late John and Jeanne Stiegeler and was a lifelong area resident. At the age of 17, Jim started in the auto body repair business and continued in that line of work his entire career. Through the years, he worked at several body shops and auto dealerships, having spent the majority of that time with Carman Body Works in Rotterdam. Jim loved spending time at "camp" and loved being on Sacandaga Lake. Jim is survived by his life partner, Sharon, daughters Casey (Michael) and Danielle, grandchildren Avery and James, siblings: Lynne (Louis) and William, special sister-in-laws Donna and Judi, many nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sisters Nancy Stiegeler and June Mahan. The funeral service will be Friday 1:30 pm at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady; calling hours will precede the service from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
