Please share a memory of Melody to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Schenectady - Melody D. Vachon, 64, of Chrisler Ave., died Monday, May 6, 2013, surrounded by her family at home. She was born in Niskayuna, the daughter of John and Marian McWilliams. Melody worked as a waitress for many years and was also a nurse's aide. But first and foremost her life was devoted to her family. Ma was the community mother and grandmother that everyone loved to be around and have as part of their life. She enjoyed the Temptations and dancing along with sleepovers with her great-grandchildren. She always looked for the best in everyone she met. She will be greatly missed. Melody is survived by three children, Michael S. McWilliams (Dawn), Tracy Smith (Dan) and Deana Leip (Tim); six grandchildren, Michael McWilliams Jr., Chanelle Boddy (Wendell), Shana Sanchez, Jessica Leip, Zackery McWilliams, Nicole Fournier and Dannielle Coonradt; and seven great-grandchildren, Tauvon, Jaerun, Lamontae, Jazanea, Jassyah, Daiveon and Isabella. She is forever in our hearts, shining down on us. Calling hours Saturday afternoon, 2 to 3 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Interment, 3 Monday at Vale Cemetery, Brandywine entrance.
