Schenectady - William B. Waters, 90, of Campbell Ave., died Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Ellis Hospital. Mr. Waters was born in Schenectady, the son of William and Viola Waters Sr. and was a graduate of Nott Terrace. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was an electrician and had worked with the Schenectady Public School District for many years, later working for Electric Boat in West Milton, and had been a 71-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a lifetime member and past exalted ruler of the Rotterdam Elks, a member of the World War II Vets Club, an avid bowler and fisherman,lifelong Mets fan and a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Iris DeHart Waters; four daughter, Nancy (Kurt) Wenzel, Janis Jastrebski, Patricia Waters and Debra Waters; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service, Wednesday morning at 10:30 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours, Wednesday morning 9 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Interment, Albany Rural Cemetery, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
