Rotterdam - Philip W. Hoyt, 54, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013. Phil was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Frederick and Phyllis Hoyt. He proudly served in the US Army for 21 years, retiring as sgt. first class. Phil then went to work for Richmor Aviation and most recently worked at Air Method as a helicopter mechanic. He is survived by Karen, his wife of 30 years; their daughters, Heather Hoyt and Ashley (Jim) Vermette; grandchildren, Aaylah Hoyt, Shyanna Vermette and Logenn Vermette; siblings, Terry Hoyt, Sandy Thompson, Bernard Hoyt, Thomas Hoyt, Wendy Hoyt, Patty Olsen and Lorie Capobianco; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Gloria Richards, Darlene Carmen, Melinda Merrill and Michell Hoyt. A graveside service will be held Wednesday 12 noon at Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington, VT. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
