Obituary of Mary Desmond

Schenectady - Mary Alice Desmond, 64, resident of Schenectady, NY, died February 10, 2014. She was born to the late Jane and Gerald Desmond on March 1, 1949 in Schenectady, NY. Mary was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. She was employed by the State of New York in the Department of Labor, having held numerous positions over a 30-year career. She acted as a CSEA representative for several years. Mary enjoyed ushering at the Palace Theater. Apple, as she was known to those close to her, found her greatest enjoyment in being with family and friends. Mary is survived by siblings, Jane Riccardo (Frank) of Gansevoort, NY, Patricia Burditt of Atlanta, GA, Kevin Desmond (Sonja) of Schenectady, NY, and Maureen Desmond (Bill Carrigan) of Carrabassett Valley, ME, Dede Desmond of Key West, FL; her nieces and nephew, Becky Bliss, Erin Desmond, Tim Desmond, Katie Desmond and Olivia Desmond. Predeceased by Jerry Desmond, brother. Funeral service, Saturday 12 p.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St . Calling hours Friday eve, 5 to 7. Interment, private.
