Schenectady - Winifred 'Winnie' E. Bittner, 88, of Raymond St., died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her family. Winnie was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Stanley and Boleslawa Rogowski. She was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. For many years she worked as a customer service representative for Time Warner Co. She always enjoyed the annual shopping trip to Reading, PA, vacationing with family and listening to the Polish hour on Sunday. Winnie will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Leon J. Bittner, they were married for 66 years. He died February 6, 2014. Winnie is survived by two children, David (Lori) Bittner and Adriane (Jack) Walrath; one sister, Stella Joralemon; five grandchildren, Jason (Johna) Bittner, Derek (Phalla Keo) Bittner, Kaitlyn Bittner, John Walrath and Shannon (Brian) Cechnicki; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Raymond and John Rogowski and Kay Piotrowski. Funeral service Thursday morning 10 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours, Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m. in the evening at the funeral home. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, New York 12308.
