Obituary of Stephen Baker

Schenectady - Stephen P. Baker , 65 of Irving St. died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at home after a long illness. Stephen was born in Malone, the son of Leo and Laura Baker. He was a graduate of Dannamora High School and Clinton County Community College. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam war. He moved to the Schenectady area in 1980 and worked in the restaurant business for many years before working for the Schenectady Public Schools and the Niskayuna School District. He enjoyed being an usher at Proctors and using his Disney Vacation Club membership with his family. He was a communicant of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Regina Fish Baker; five children, Victoria (John) Stenard, Ashley Baker, Heather Baker, Nicole Baker and Dominick (companion, Lisa Carlino) Baker, all of Schenectady; two brothers, David (Donna) Baker of Saratoga Springs and Richard (Karen) Baker of Ballston Spa; three grandchildren, Alivia and Michael Stenard and Blake Simmons and five nieces. Funeral service Thursday morning 8:15 from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc 242 McClellan St. Schenectady and 9:00 at St. Kateri Tekakawitha Parish (Union St) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Wednesday afternoon 4:00 to 8:00 in the evening at the funeral home. Interment Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, with military honors.
