Scotia - Alice J. Draina, 89 formerly of Baldwin Rd, died Friday, October 31, 2014, at Ellis Hospital. Alice was born and educated in Wilkes Barre, PA and was the daughter of Michael and Bertha Sliwinski. She moved to the Schenectady area in 1953. She worked for the Scotia- Glenville District, retiring in 1980, as the food manager. Alice is a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia. She enjoyed travelling around the world, especially the trips with the "Golden Girls." Alice will be remembered as the caregiver to everyone in her family. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew B. Draina, who died in 1973. She was the mother of four sons Gerald (Nancy Jean) Draina of Frederick, MD, Denis (Susan) Draina of Malta, Mitchell (deceased, his wife Dolores) Draina of BallstonLake, and Andrew(LuAnn) Draina of Edinburg; seven grandchildren Carrie, Tonya, Timothy, Scott, Kevin, A.J. and Nikki; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service Friday evening 5:00 at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 4 to 5 at the funeral home. Interment St.Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township, PA.
