Sally M. Cotton Rotterdam Junction Sally M. Cotton passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12th at her home in Rotterdam Jct. She was born in Newton Falls, NY in 1942 to Ulys and Kathryn Nicklaw. She was a graduate of Schalmont High School. She married Robert H. Cotton Sr. in 1961 and they were married for 40 plus years. They had four children while residing in Schenectady, NY and later made Rotterdam Jct. their home where they resided until their passing. Sally was a beloved sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beloved friend to all those that were lucky enough to have known her. Sally was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2002. Sally is survived by her loving an adoring children, Robert Cotton Jr. (Susan), Pamela Cotton (Bill), Mark Cotton (Catherine), Brett Cotton (Deborah); seven grandchildren; five great children; her three sisters, Janis Hopkins, Rosemarie Alexander, Laurie Nicklaw; and two great aunts, Alice Granger and Kathleen Nugent . She worked for St. Clare's for 40 plus years in the dietary department. She was a member of St. Margaret of Cortona Church, Rosary Society, Bible studies, Rotterdam Jct. VFS Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. Funeral service Friday morning 9:15 a.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. and 10 a.m. at St. Margarets of Cortona Church (Rotterdam Junction) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Thursday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to be announced this spring. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Sally in a special way may make a contribution in her name, to the National Kidney Foundation, 501 New Karner Road #6, Albany, NY 12205.
