Schenectady - Michael Thomas Andriano passed away suddenly Sunday March 15 , 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Born on July 19, 1934 in Schenectady, NY, Mike was a policeman for the Schenectady Police Dept. for 25 years. He was the first K-9 dog handler for the Schenectady Police Department with his beloved German Shepherd, Voss. He served as the PBA president for many years and had an avid interest in politics. Mike loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and his camp on Sacandaga Lake. He was always tinkering in his garage and was known as the neighborhood handyman. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Terry Smith; grandchildren, Cassie Flanagan (Tim), Ashley Smith, Nicholas Andriano, and Michael Smith; brother, Gaetano Andriano (Denise); sister, Concetta Dawsey (Bob); several nieces and nephews and his little friend, Emma. He was predeceased by his son, Michael D. Andriano and his brother, Pasquale Andriano. Funeral service, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours. Interment, St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
