Georgiana Elizabeth Murray, 77, died March 30,2023 at the Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Albany.

Georgie was born in New York City on September 9, 1945, the daughter of George and Sara

Murray. The family moved to Albany, where she was a graduate of Albany High School and a graduate of Potsdam State University College. She also earned her Teacher Certificate in Education.

She taught at Howe School with the Schenectady City School District for 33 years, retiring in 2000 as a Master Teacher. Georgie was a member of the Schenectady Federation of Teachers, New York Teachers Association. Her interest in the Schenectady community led to memberships with the Proctors Guild, Sunnyview Auxiliary and Zonta Club of Schenectady, remaining active for many years. She also supported many Schenectady community organizations and their special events. She was a longtime member of Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church. Through Georgie’s generosity and creativity in many forms, she showed her love of others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Georgie is survived by a sister and brother, Louise (Ed) LaBombard of Warrenton, VA and George(Lee Talaia) Murray of Seattle, WA and cherished nephew and nieces, Eddie (Ruth) LaBombard and Manique and Stephanie Talaia-Murray. She is also survived by four great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 10:00 A.M. at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady with Pastor Dwight Moore officiating. Internment: Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.
