Obituary of Elaine Olsen

Niskayuna - Elaine Olsen, 86, passed into eternal rest on Thursday, September 24, 2015. Elaine leaves behind her son, David Olsen and his wife, Cheryl Olsen; and daughters, Lynne Ross and her husband, Jim, Becky Harling and her husband, Steve and Sharon Davis and her partner, Cindy; and 16 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren. Born in Queens, NY, she was married to the late Rev. Dr. Wesley Olsen. In addition to supporting her husband's pastoral ministry, she completed her master's degree in Education from Miller State Pennsylvania and taught elementary school in New Jersey and Phoenix, Arizona. She loved working with children and was an advocate of education. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Rexford. Her love in retirement was her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her two great-grandchildren, who live locally and always brought a smile to her face. Elaine was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and followed both teams religiously. She remained and avid sport fan who loved all sports, but most passionate about women's soccer. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 10 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
