Robert "Bob" Getty, 83, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Bob was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Wilfred and Irene Getty and was a lifelong area resident. He worked for General Electric as a tool and dye man, was the owner and operator of Bill's Beauty Salon for many years and most recently, worked at Handleman Music Store retiring in 1997. Bob loved playing golf, especially at Stadium Golf Course, liked playing cards and enjoyed the family camp on Paradox Lake in the Adirondacks. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bette Jean Getty; his sister, Dorothy M. Getty; sister-in-law, Dorothy B. Getty; two nephews, Mark C. Getty and his wife, Debra and their children, Arianna and Angela and David D. Getty and his wife, Lubella and their daughter, Sienna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha (Union St.). Visitation will precede the service Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family
