Obituary of Charles Williams

Glenville - Charles A. Williams, 85, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Glendale Nursing Home. Born in Binghamton on August 14,1930, where he resided until 2004. Charlie was an accomplished camera technician and a long term employee of GAF in Johnson City. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edna (Palmer) Williams; and his wife of nearly 48 years, Mary Theresa (Nograsek) Williams; his father and mother-in-law, Rudolph and Jenny (Suhadolnik) Nograsek; and a granddaughter, Rachel Falk. Survived by his daughter, Deborah Williams DeGenova and her husband, Randal J. DeGenova, a son-in-law and friend to Charlie; his brother, Edward J. Williams and his wife, Sharon Williams, both of whom were especially dear to Charlie. He is also survived by a grandson, Seth D. Falk and his wife, Helen and their daughter, Emma. Charlie's interest included gardening and drawing and later in life jigsaw and word puzzles, as well as keeping the poker club at Glendale active. He kept busy meeting the needs of others at Glendale whenever he could. The family extends heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Glendale Nursing Home where Charlie lived, having most recently been a resident in the Union Station Neighborhood at Glendale. Their interest, care and kindness had no bounds. Thanks and appreciation is also extended to all those who befriended Charlie and made his life fun and meaningful during his time as a Schenectady area resident. Charlie enjoyed being part of the DeGenova family and benefitted from their love and attention for which his family will ways be grateful. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Interment, Chenango Valley Cemetery, Binghamton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Charlie's name to the Glendale Social Activities Committee, Glendale Nursing Home, 59 Hetcheltown Rd., Scotia, NY 12302.
