Schenectady - Anthony N. Gugliuzza, 87, of Cresse Ave., died Thursday, December 3, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. Mr. Gugliuzza was born and educated in Isnello (PA), Italy, the son of Joseph and Genoveffa Gugliuzza. He moved to Schenectady in 1962 and worked for the New York State Department of General Services for many years, retiring several years ago. Anthony enjoyed his garden and loved being with his family. He had been a longtime communicant of St. Luke's Church. Anthony is survived by his wife, Maria S. Ortoleva Gugliuzza. He is survived by one son, Joseph (Kelly) Gugiuzza of Schenectady; sisters and a brother, Maria (Carmello) Carollo, Linda Carollo, Teresa Agosara and Nicholas (Paula) Gugliuzza; a grandson, Michael Gugliuzza; two step grandchildren, Justin and Jenna Manley; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service, Monday afternoon, 1 p.m. from the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady and 1:30 p.m. at St. Luke's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's, 1241 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
