Schenectady - Charles "Bird" Tomassi, 61, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Schenectady, he was a lifelong area resident. Bird worked over 40 years as an Administrator for the Defense Logistics Agency at the Navy depot before retiring in 2011. He had a love and passion for music and his sisters "stacker" sandwiches. Bird is survived by his wife and best friend of over 30 years, Luanne Rogers Tomassi; two very special cousins, Claudia Calkins and Chuck Allen. Also survived by several aunts; best buddies, Pooper and Frankie the cats; and his extended brotherhood of friends. Funeral service, Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment, St. John's Cemetery.
