Obituary of Janice Albee

Janis Spitz Albee, 74 Daughter of Rose and David Spitz of Schenectady; born on April 10, 1941 passed away peacefully on February 16, 2016 after a courageous battle with multiple health issues, surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Schenectady County where she graduated from Linton High School class of 1959. She then went on to Curry College for medical assisting; later working for DR. James Nagriny for many years. She left the medical field to run the family business DAR-Jay's dry cleaners. She later found her true calling helping others; working at Conifer Park as a CASAC for more than 25 years. Her influence, strength and selflessness will live on through all the people's lives she touched. Some of Jan's greatest memories were of her summers spent with her family at Lake Luzerne. Her greatest treasures though were her family; her daughters Kim and Stacy Albee; her cousin Ann Alkinburgh and her two grandchildren Jordyn and Hailee Albee. She was so accepting and loved so selflessly she had many "extra children" that were friends turned family, "her daughters "Lori Balsamo, Christine Keefe, and countless others. She always had truthful words for anyone that would listen and was constantly acting like the mayor of whatever situation she was in. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
