Obituary of Thomas Unseld

Glenville - Thomas W. Unseld, 90, of Coburg Village Way, Rexford, formerly of Glenville, died Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Ellis Hospital. Tom was born in Schenectady, the son of Thomas and Mary Novak Unseld, and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Tom worked with his father at the Schenectady Herald Printing Co. for several years prior to become the owner operator of the company, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Edison Club, the Lower Mohawk Club, the Schenectady Curling Club and active in his community republican organizations. He was a member of the Elks, the Knights of St. John and enjoyed golf and participating in sporting activities with his daughters. He is survived by his wife of 60 year,s Frances Hooker Unseld; four daughters, Susan (John) Michalko of Canandaigua, Barbara (Dennis) Taylor of Carson City, NV, Carolyn (Bruce) Wasilchuk of Clifton Park and Mary (Charles) Sedota of Mooresville, NC; 8 grandchildren, John-Thomas, Brian, Kathryn and Nicholas Michalko, Lauren and Michael Wasilchuk and Rachel and Christopher Sedota. Tom was predeceased by his sister Mary Lawrence. Funeral service, Thursday morning, 8:30 from Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St,. Schenectady and 9:00 at St. Luke's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours Wednesday afternoon 4:00 to 7:00 in the evening at the funeral home.
