Glenville - Frank S. Capello Jr., 94, of Judson Meadows, Swaggertown Road, Glenville, formerly of Alheim Drive, Rotterdam and Glen Terrace, Glenville, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. Frank was born in Schenectady on November 23, 1921, the son of Frank and Hilda Capello. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. While working for General Electric, he graduated the Apprentice Tool and Die Program, and was later promoted to the Labor Relations Department. He retired in 1984, with 43 years of service. It was at GE that he met his wife, Loretta, whom he married on February 28, 1943. At one time, he was a projectionist at the Scotia Cinema. When his sons were young, he umpired with the Carman Little League. Since his childhood, he attended shows at Proctors, and continued his support of Proctors throughout his life. He enjoyed a passion for flower and vegetable gardening. He was a longtime communicant of St. Gabriel's Church, Rotterdam, and more recently The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glenville. Frank will be remembered as being devoted to his wife, Loretta, his three loving children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Loretta Ausfeld Capello; and his sister, Elaine Capello. He is survived by three children, Frank 'Cap' (Allison) Capello, of Rexford, Ronald (Jane) Capello, of Saratoga Springs and Christine Douglas of Glenville; a sister, Nancy Snyder of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Deborah Capello, Steve (Tammy) Capello, Christopher (Heather) Houghton, Amy (Dr. Alex) Kennedy, Dr. Seth (Trish) Capello, Mark (Laura) Douglas, Brent (Ashley) Douglas, Dr. Kara (Dan) Newman; great-grandchildren Skylar, Noah, Hailey, and Sage Capello, Madeline and Samantha Kennedy, Alex Houghton, Elaina and Isabel Douglas and Reid Newman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral service, Tuesday morning, 9 a.m. at The Church of the Immaculate Conception, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours are Monday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady. Entombment is at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to The St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY 12302.
